I have recently joined this page in the hope of finding a new Great Dane..

My Grandfather has recently lost his 10 year old Great Dane. He is now looking for his 8th Dane. Ideally he would be looking for an older female, maybe 8-12 months +. We have tried all the rescue and rehoming charities, with no luck. if anyone could help, then please don't hesitate in getting in touch.

Now is not a particularly good time to look for a puppy - BYBs have jumped in where 'reputable' breeders have curtailed their breeding plans because of Covid 19.   And you'll find prices have gone through the roof although there are small signs of them coming down.  I've also noticed many people with puppies of just under a year, realising they have taken on more than they can deal with, so these poor youngsters are looking for new homes.   But still at inflated prices as people hope to get back what they paid for them.

Why not go back to whoever bred the previous dog - if they don't have any litter available, they may know of others who do.   Also the relevant Breed Club may be able to help.

As your not looking for a puppy puppy have to contacted any of the breed rescues? They may not be rehoming just yet though. Off the top of my head there is great Dane care.

Yes we have contacted most of the Great Dane rescues, with no luck unfortunately!
