Good morning all.

Looking for some advice please for my 3 day old [breed removed] pups. We're struggling to get them to poo. They're feeding well, don't seem to be in any discomfort as they're not crying but I just can't get them pooing as often as I'd like.

This is about my 6th litter now and ivw never had this before. So any advice please will be gladly welcome.

Thanks

If they are not outwardly showing any discomfort, and mum is licking them to stimulate a BM, I'd not panic.   They don't take much nourishment in during the first days, so what doesn't go in, probably won't need to come out.    Each litter is individual.    And is always a learning curve, however experienced the breeder might be

With an efficient attentive dam you won't see bowel movements until pups start going without stimulaton (around 2 weeks).

The mum will be eating the poo, that's why you're not seeing it.
