hi, my bitch COPPER is just 13 months old but she still seems very delicate on her hind legs..........Is this normal??? Everyone says shes under weight because her hind legs are a bit thin but she eats constantly although we try to keep her to a healthy/strict diet. She has an amazing nature and is really good with kids..doesnt like getting in trouble

Not my breed, large/giant breeds take a lot of growing up so she still has a long way to go. Has her breeder seen her or if not her vet. Do they think she is not developing well. I may be wrong but I think it takes steady but careful exercise to develope good mucle in such a large breed. Not a lot of help I know but if you are worried I think you need to speak to someone who knows what they are speaking about, not just the people you meet in the park. J:)

My Bulllmastiff is 18 months and his back legs seem to sway a lot not sured if this is normal as I do know it takes a long time for mastiff types to develop completely

Hi guest, Please do not be offended at what Im about to say, Im just trying to show you an all over picture. Neos TEND to look very weak on their back ends. A lot of them seem to be badly cow hocked with very little turn of stifle, and almost all appear to be bum high and sway backed. I have a man who lives near me who has imported an Italian Champion. That looks a bit better, but most of them dont look good on their rear ends at all. As I said, PLEASE dont take offence, this is not meant as a criticism, just an observation. Does her body appear underweight? If not, then her back end problem is lack of muscle, and bend of stifle. At 13 months , she should have just about finished her height growing, so I can onlyu advise be careful with the amount of exercise you give her. Road walking may help to build up muscle tone, but too much walking and running may make the problem worse. Soon she will start to body up more, so if things dont improce soon, I would see the vet, or have a long chat with your girls breeder.
