Wondering how you all let puppy buyers view a litter during this Coronavirus crisis?

I didn't breed with my girl on her last season because I thought it irresponsible at the time, but her next season is almost due and I would prefer not to miss it.

My concern is people coming to our house to view, I usually encourage visits and allow viewings as and when but this time I'm not so keen.

Do you send photos etc and allow outside visits (Socially distanced) for choosing and visiting?
Or is it no visits and only photos and videos of the litter, with mum and surroundings of course?

I'm really quite undecided, I know at the end of the day, its personal choice, but wondered what the general consensus was.

Sending Photos, Videos etc is a perfect way to keep Buyers up to date.  My last Litter meant where I normally recommend 2 visits, I accepted only 1.
Mum & Puppies were placed in a large heated area - could be garden shed, garage) and a footbath, sanitiser and face masks were provided to the Visitors.  The potential new owner watched me interact with
Mum & each Puppy but were not allowed to handle them  Choice were made by whelping collar colour and a form had to be completed re 'what they could offer a new addition?
Also gave me a chance to meet buyers face to face but still apply social distancing.  Hope this helps with your decision to allow visits or not?

I think for the sake of the puppies' socialisation alone, it would be best to allow people to view outside in the garden with masks and after hand sanitising/washing and with social distancing.

For the purposes of socialisation, you definitely want the buyers to be able to interact with the pups. You can wipe them over with an anti-bac wipe afterwards but research shows that the virus really doesn't live very long on dog fur, so as long as you wash your own hands after touching them for about 24hrs, there won't be a risk.

We met visitors in my garden, chairs and table set up for them, one for us. Once we were all happy the puppies were brought out.

I usually allow visits as often and as soon as people want, pointing out that until 4 weeks they won't really be that interesting and characterful.

Those travelling long distances therefore visit at that stage, so outdoor visits would be entirely practical, unless you have tiny/short coated breeds.

These days with tech they will have been getting not only update photos from birth, but short vids too.

I hope to get lots of pics and vids of the hoped for litter I hope to have a pup from. I bred the Mum.

As I am Wiltshire and would be breeder Yorkshire I probably won't visit until pick up, as litter would not be born until at least mid December, and of course I know the bitch, her owner and the stud personally.

It will be strange after 29 years to be in the buyers shoes.
