I am with bought by many.  they do various policies including a lifetime with a locked price.   I've only got a basic policy with them but when my new puppy developed giardia and I had only had the policy a couple of weeks they paid up without quibble so I am pleased with them- and they were the cheapest company I found

Your basic types of insurance tend to be: time limited, maximum benefit, and lifetime.

Time limited is where when you make a claim a time limit is put on the claim, during that time limit (often 12 months) you can make multiple claims up to a total set amount then once you reach the end of that time limit you can not claim for it ever again even if you didn't hit the total. So for example say your claim limit is £1000 per condition time limited for 12 months, your dog gets a skin condition , and in 12 months you claim £500 worth of treatment. After that 12 months you can not claim again for skin conditions again.

Maximum benefit is where your policy does not have a time limit only the max claim amount the ones I've seen are normally per condition and a total amount. Once you have reached your max limit you can't claim again. So for example say your max claim limit per condition is £1000 with a total claim limit of £4000, your dog gets a skin condition and in two years you claim £1000 worth of treatment (providing you renew your policy of course) once you bit this mad limit you can't not claim for skin conditions again. If your unlucky and your dog has other claims and all together they add up to the total limit amount that will be the end of the policy once they have paid out £4000 in total. So like the one above but just no time limit.

Lifetime is where you have set claim amounts like the above however as long as your renew the policy those amount reset so you can continue to claim again and again. So for example say you have a condition limit of £1000 and total limit of £4000, and your dog gets that skin condition, you can claim up to £1000 during your policy year then the next year you can claim again up to £1000 pounds and this continues for as long as you keep the policy going. Same with the total limit if your dog has multiple claims that all are up to £4000 that limit will renew each year.

I'd always recommend lifetime as it will cover you for reoccurring conditions although they tend to be the more expensive of the three types I'd say they are worth it. Time limited is normally the cheapest as it's the more restrictive one. Although it's always good to shop around and make sure your read the policy small print to see the exclusions, these are things the policy won't cover and could be certain treatments, illnesses, breeds or if your dog certain things with your dog.
