
I suppose it will depend on the breed, but my bitch was perfectly happy to have people and my other dogs around her pups. She was fine with them being picked up and handled, more so the older they got, she was ever so slightly 'I'm watching you' when they were first born; in fact I had three people helping me when the pups were young, and even during the whelping had a helper, as I was scheduled to work, and she didn't bat an eye lid, in fact she positively loved the attention. Her mum was fine with people and other dogs, she was a bit funny with my FCR at first, as she was a newcomer to the household still at that point. I'm not sure spaying will make much difference tbh, but this is the problem with breeding, you really don't know until you've had a litter and then your bitch can change character I'm afraid. It will just be a case of see how she goes, perhaps she will calm down but there is no real set answer I'm afraid.
