Hi, I am feeling a bit confused about whether to buy a cocker-spaniel pup. The mother is an orange show-type cocker spaniel and has seen her pedigree line on paper. But I don't think she has had any health tests. And the dad is a blue roan and very beautiful. He has all health checked up and pedigree papers. I am a bit concerned if I should buy their blue roan pup. I am. interested in breeding the pup in future but it concerns me that mum doesn't have had her health or PRA clear check-up. Should I go ahead with buying the pup or make sure all health papers should be in place for both mum n dad considering I want to breed the pup in a few years? Any recommendations will be much appreciated. Thank you

Definitely need to know and see proof that both have had all the appropriate tests done before breeding
If you have the pedigree names you could check the health status of the parents for yourself on MyKC. However, it seems odd that the breeder hasn't supplied this information if the mother is tested.
That's super helpful. yes, I did walk away as wasn't sure.
But I have now found a breeder who has shown me papers of PRA clear for both mum n dad. But FN is only for the Dad. Is it ok to go ahead with getting their pup as their co-efficient value is also quite low as 2.6%. And they both are KC reg.
Thanks all for your help!
