Paul I'm so sorry for your loss - it hurts. However, please use this time while the country is still in lockdown, to decide what to do and where to look for your next best friend. I'm in a similar situation, having had to give one of my then two peace at the end of April.
To be honest, my head was all over the place, and still is to some extent, so it's just as well I'm having to wait when it comes to taking in another (which won't be a puppy). Reputable breeders have curtailed their breeding plans at the moment, leaving the BYBs having a field day re their charges for what is almost bound to be inferior stock. What's going on out there is just ridiculous in terms of prices (if they are getting what they are asking?). Of course if you have the means to buy at these inflated prices, it's up to you whether to do so but remember, the buy in price is only the start - and with BYBred puppies, your vet bills are probably going to be correspondingly high through the life of the puppy.
