I have had two patterdales over the course of 35 years, they both lived over 17 years!  My last one passed away just before Christmas, and I'm now looking for another Patterdale - are there any recommended breeders out there?

As Patterdales aren't kc reg it would be hard to recomnend one. Maybe look at some of the hunting pages for adverts? Not checked but there maybe a club page of some sorts too.
I have no idea what health issues can crop up in these types of terriers but look into that too.
Or you could consider a fox terrier either wire or smooth or a kc reg jack Russell as another example where its easier to find reputable breeders

Yes, I was aware they aren't KC registered.  Good idea about the hunting pages!
This type of breed are very healthy and don't have many issues.
