I’m open to having a second dog, but don’t NEED one, and I’m not actively looking for one.
But if, for example, someone came to me and said that their mum was going in a home and would I take their miniature/toy poodle, I would.
Have any of you had a dog appear in your life when you weren’t looking for one ?

Yes I found an abandoned dog back in the 1970s, never found her owner & she stayed with me for 11 1/2 years

Yes, I've done it a few times, and footed the vets bills as well, quite often there's a reason people don't want dogs.  I don't regret it, but make sure you have enough funds in reserve if needed.

4 of the 5 dogs I have now came to me that way, and of the 17 dogs I've had, only 4 were actively searched for.
