Hi my girl had a beautiful healthy litter of 9 pups 8 days ago they are all doing brilliant gaining weight feeding really well my concern is I noticed one of the pups have what looks like dry sleep in the inner corner of her eye her eye does not look swollen as far as I can tell and as I said she is eating and gaining weight well my question is should I bathe her eye with water and clean away the dry sleep of leave it to mum?
Any advice would be very gratefully appreciated

It might be worth speaking to a vet, neonatal conjunctivitis can have nasty consequences if not caught early on.

Thank you we are going to take her to the vets first thing do you think I should bathe her eye tonight or just wait untill we see what vet says?

Be very careful if the eyes have not yet opened - do not force them open to clean or for any other reason...

I didn’t see this til now. How did you get on at the vet’s?

Hi I am just waiting for the vet to ring back with a appointment now

10 past 2 we are at the vets so fingers crossed we get her all sorted and back to full health

We are home from the vets best said the pup is in perfect health no pain and a good weight so no concerns about infection think mabey one of the other pups have scratched it and to just keep it clean and a cold compress every now and then thank you for your help
