Hi all
So my mother in law has got it down to two dogs the pyrenean mountain dog and leonberger , from a search i have found lots on this forum about the leonberger but cant find much on the forum about the pyrenean mountain dog so i thought starting a new thread only on the pyrenean mountain dog would be a good idea in hope more people might comment on this breed if the tilte is pyrenean mountain dog.
Any experience or knowledge on the breed is very welcome.

She said she decided on the Newfoundland as when she saw her friend who has owned and shown them for 25yrs , her friend was very honest with her about what its like living with a newfie and they spoke for 4hrs about them and she went on a walk to get a feel for newfies and she said the only downside was drool apart from that newfies were perfect for her. She said there easy to train, dont bark all the time ( her friend has five newfies currently and two dont even bother to bark when someone knocks on the door) laid back indoors, dont need huge amounts of Exersice. , get on great with other animals. So she just said that she felt stupid turning down the perfect dog just because of drool. And she said she has spoken to a few breeders of the Pyrenean mountain dog this morning and all three that she spoke to said they are way more vocal than Leonbergers or newfies as part of there job is to bark and they do so freely. One of the Pyrenean breeders said that everything you have just described of what you are looking for is newfie. So she is going to get use to the drool as other than that they are perfect for her and she cant stop thinking about them from yesterday.
