Sorry for the descriptive heading. Some of my 5 week old puppies have mucousy poos. Any ideas? Mum is raw fed, she is not the best mum and does not clean up after them. Puppies on a good quality soaked puppy food, scrambled egg (their favourite), boiled chicken. All puppies gaining weight and very lively. They were wormed at 3 weeks and are due another worming on Friday at 5 weeks.

Giardia?  Just a thought.  And, disgusting though this sounds, how about getting a sample to the vet to get it tested?  It would put your mind at rest.

Thanks all for your replies. They are due worming again tomorrow so will wait and see if they improve after that. Don't want to take them to the vet at this stage, too many infections there. Poos are normal apart from some mucous. Puppies are lively, eating solids well, perfectly normal in fact.

Poos all fine now, worming was the answer I think
