Dear Experts,
My female [large breed] came on heat after 1 year and her age is 3 years. She starts bleeding on 23rd Oct 2018 and On 4rth Nov 2018 She is mated with adult male and mating was successful. then on 5th Nov she again mated with male. On 4rth Nov she was bleeding but mating was successful. On 5th Nov she was not bleeding then on 6th Nov she again started bleeding. Now on 7th Nov she again mated with male and mating was successful. Now on 7th and 8th Nov(Today)she is still bleeding.
Can you please tell me that is everything Ok? She can conceive or not? How and when her bleeding will stop? What should i do now?
Waiting for the expert
Thanks
All you are telling us is that she has mated regularly from days 13 to 16? (If I counted the days right.)
The bleeding doesn't mean anything at all. They will usually bleed through the season as normal until day 21-28, whether or not they were mated.
The main thing to say, in response to your post, is that you are at the beginning of pregnancy and whelping and raising puppies and your level of knowledge is that you don't even know whether or not it is normal for a bitch to bleed through a season when she is mated...?
Your bitch's life depends on your level of knowledge if you are breeding her. Literally.

Sir she is mated on 12,13 and 15.The mating was successful.
Actually i thought that she will do bleeding first 1 to 11 days then she will stop bleeding and release white discharge and at that time we should do mating of my female.
But i have done its mating on 12,13 and 15 days of her heating cycle and she is still bleeding even today is 16th day.
I was worried as i havn't much info about that.Is everything normal?

My bitches have bled for the full 21 days as a rule. Its common just to mate twice 48 hrs apart, makes it a little easier to work out a due date. I would give her a few more days and unless she bleeds A LOT or is unwell its most likely fine, but if you are worried the vet is the person to speak too. If you are a novice breeder then it will be worth you finding a mentor who has experience to help you and guide you. Lots of things can go wrong and only experience tells you if there is a problem before its too late. If you have contact still speak to your girls breeder or at the very least get a good book on breeding and whelping.

It's absolutely normal for bitches to have a bloody discharge the full 21 days of their season, although sometimes after they've been mated it lessens a bit and the season can seem to finish a day or two earlier. Unless a breeder tests for ovulation to determine the correct day for mating, it's normal to mate twice, 48 hours apart, on (for example) days 11 and 13, or days 12 and 14. This makes it easier to determine the due date for the litter.
Unless the discharge becomes very profuse and/or smelly there's unlikely to be anything wrong.
As you don't seem to have anyone knowledgeable nearby to mentor you (such as your bitch's breeder) you might find
this article helpful.

I think this person is abroad, so not sure if they have mentors etc, I hope the matings were all with the same male, or puppies will need to be DNA tested to know who father is.

From another thread re bitches bleeding after being mated.... I'm being lazy re writing the same over again!
" Yes, although normally mine, mated or not, would just have a decreased and light coloured discharge through the third week, I had one who went back to a rather blood coloured discharge to the end of her season after 2 matings, 2 days apart. I was worried, but as it stopped by the normal end of that season, didn't bother with my vet. She had an uneventful pregnancy, and despite needing a C.Section, produced 9 of probably the best puppies we'd ever bred! So good that we kept 3, 1 dog and 2 bitches, bringing them back to the UK (with others). "

you need to increase your level of knowledge for the safety of your bitch and puppies.
A good starting point is The Book of the Bitch, read and reread it over next few weeks.
I strongly advise having an experienced breeder on hand to help you through this and help you with whelping the puppies, as really only experience can tell you if things are progressing normally or the bitch is in trouble.
Sadly few vets have any real experience with breeding themselves and there is such a wide range or normal, and also signs of serious problems during and after birth can be missed..
Thanks everyone for sharing their experience.Actually with the help of all you i will get knowledge and experience.
Thanks again

Dear Experts,
My female started bleeding on 23rd Oct 2018 and she continuously bleeding till the next 21 days.Means her bleeding stops on 13th Nov 2018.then on next 3 days i can't see bleeding.Means till 16th Nov there is no bleeding observed and no discharge observed. But from the last 2 days(On 17th and 18th Nov 2018) the female is passing a pink, off white discharge. If any one can share email id then i can also email the discharge pics.
In that case i also want to tell you that on 4th Nov,5th Nov and 7th Nov female was also mated with Male and mating was successful.
Need help regarding the issue asap

A bitch can be in season for more than or less than 21 days (3 weeks). I had one bitch that was in season for 5 weeks...every bitch is different & every season can be different so it isn't unusual to be longer than 21 days. The fact she has been mated is also immaterial.
As previously mentioned I
strongly recommend you buy The Book Of The Bitch it will be the best investment & may help your bitch should she be in whelp as you have no experience.
Due to discharge is there any effect on her pregnancy?

I am not a vet & you should take your dog to the vet...discharge can mean a whole host of things including pyometra, which can be fatal if not caught early enough.
both have been suggested to you before
