My 2 year old [toy breed] first mating was 17 days ago she was mated 2 more times after that a few days apart,  its like her season has carried on only slight spotting though, it doesnt smell and she seems absolutely fine in herself, has anybody else experienced this...should i be worried.

1.  She will still be in season after being mated, to the normal end of the season.
2.  Yes, although normally mine would just have a decreased and light coloured discharge through the third week, I had one who went back to a rather blood coloured discharge to the end of her season after 2 matings, 2 days apart.   I was worried, but as it stopped by the normal end of that season, didn't bother with my vet.   She had an uneventful pregnancy, and despite needing a C.Section, 9 of probably the best puppies we'd ever bred!  So good that we kept 3, 1 dog and 2 bitches, bringing them back to the UK (with others).   One bitch became a UK Champion at that.  The other bitch gained her Stud Book number but was always over-shadowed by her sister.   The male's bite 'went' while in quarantine so couldn't be shown in the UK - I did let somebody use him, twice on the same bitch as she was so happy with what she had from him, so he's back of a lot of hounds here now.

I'd just keep an eye on your girl but if you don't like what's going on, see your vet.

Sounds normal to me.

Its 25 days since she  came into heat though, a couple of days ago it was bright red blood not dripping just a spot or 2 on tissue, now its a lot paler more brown/cream colour, could this be a good sign that she is carrying .

It's totally impossible to know anything.  There are no signs at this point whether she is pregnant or not.

have had bitches mated and not bleed up to a full month with no health issues.

ok, I may well be reading your posts wrong but this is how I have read them.

Your bitch was mated 17 days ago (22 oct)
Her season started 25 days ago (14 Oct)
She was mated on her 8th day

I would say giving she is still dripping, is normal, some say that when a bitch has been mated they can stop sooner but this isn't always the case.
If they is no smell I wouldn't overly worry.

It is far to soon to say whether she has taken to the mating..if only we had a crystal ball....

Be aware that it COULD be pyometra. I had it happen to a Papillon bitch a couple of weeks after mating. I don't like the sound of the cream/brown discharge. Old blood that's just clearing out late can be brown, but cream colour should ring warning bells. There doesn't have to be any other obvious symptoms but start by taking her temperature.

Just happened to see this.  If I understand correctly, your female is at day 17 from the first mating, the day from which you are calculating the duration of the pregnancy and the likely date of birth.  "Nidation" (when the embryos attach themselves to the uterine wall) takes place around the 18th day (give or take) after the first mating.  I have had this happen twice (in 25 years of breeding), it scared me, but that is exactly what it must have been!  Apparently some women also experience this and are terrified that they are losing the baby!  My female Felicia (my small bichon breed) bled somewhat for one week the last time she was pregnant (which was winter 2018 - she gave birth in early April), and then it just stopped.  Null problemo. So do consider this.
