Has anyone ever been told no pups at approx 30-34 days pregnant and then go on to have pups? The reason im asking is because her last litter we didnt get her scanned and she kept us guessing until weeks,at that point we thought she wasnt but felt a kick. She had 2 puppies a week later.Apart from changes to her teats you really wouldnt have known.she is a solid built girl which made it hard to tell. This time we chose to have her scanned. Her teats are quite big and although tummy doesnt have a noticeable bump she does feel quite firm and comparing pics from her last pregnancy she actually looks a tiny but bigger but vet said she was definately empty. He had a good feel of her tummy then scanned and said no pups.Im just wondering if any vet has ever got it wrong at this stage if its a small litter? x
We had a bitch, we were convinced she was in whelp could see pups move (never had scanned, this was 35 years ago)....she never did have pups, was never in whelp..mind played tricks on us.
Yes, scanners can get it wrong either way...doesn't have to be a vet to get it wrong either
It's certainly possible, alot depends on the skill of the scanner.
We were convinced my girl was pregnant the second time but our scanner said they could see nothing, went back a week later and still nothing. Later confirmed no pups. My scanner tends to be quite accurate.
