I am interested in offering my labrador dog for stud. Can anybody offer me advice on how to go about this?

Thanks

Simple answer don't do it. See some of the other posts about Stud work and breeding. There are too many Labrador puppies bred for no good reason, that go to unsuitable homes and end up in rescue. I assume you are not actively showing or working your dog, or else you would not be asking this question, because if your dog is outstanding then you would have had stud enquirues. Only the best dogs from a show or working point of view will be considered by REPUTABLE BREEDERS the others will sell to anybody, and rescue will be flooded with more unwanted impulse buys!

Welcome to the forum Dawn.

Have you contacted the breeder of your dog for advice ? Maybe she will be able to help you. Has your dog had all the usual health screening done eg : Hip scored and eye tested ? I think that you would stand a better chance if your dog has show or field awards. See what his breeder has to say :-)
