Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Soon to be mum, drinking lots (locked)

My girl is on day 58, she is still eating normally but is drinking lots. It is 18 months since our last litter and I may have forgotten what happened then, getting on a bit. Could there be an issue?

Not anything I remember with mine.   Drinking 'lots' can be a symptom of pyometra.

No discharge, no smell, pups moving about well. Probably me just over reacting, as usual,

I would say its pretty normal ,  all mine used to drink more a few days before whelping  I think its their instinct to get their milk supply in..

Good but pyo can be open (discharge seen) and closed (no discharge).   Still if the puppies seem to be moving around, I'm probably barking up the wrong tree!!!

Well done mum - hopefully she'll do her job for around 3 weeks, when you work really begins!!
