Has anyone used paper dog-poo bags?  Looking at the dogs' kit, most of it seems to be made of various sorts of plastic but the one item which is definitely "single-use plastic" is the poo-bags.  A friend who visited the Czech Republic (I think it was that country) brought back, as a curiosity, a paper poo bag, which is apparently the norm there.

There seems to be one supplier of paper poo bags in the UK, but has anyone experience of using them? How easy are they to pick up with? Carry? Do they leak? Interested to hear anyone's experiences with them.  I'll probably order a pack anyway to try out, but they are much more expensive than the plastic ones so I hope they are as good for the purse as for the environment.

My worry would be and lack of compactness, and ability to deal with the odd looser motion.

Far better the biodegradable bags, but they are rather pricey.

I bulk buy biodegradable Pogi poop bags from Amazon on Subscribe and Save:  http://amzn.eu/bimcMtG

Works out at £16 for 750 bags/50 rolls.

I currently use Tidyz Poo Bags - but not from Amazon (who are more expensive), I get them for £1.00 for 200 from Savers, or another store (an Aladdin's Cave ) a bit less local to me.

I have used biodegradable ones in the past, but since the contents of the dog poo bins in our area are incinerated anyway (I asked) I just use the cheapest ones.

The reason I asked is really because there has been so much in the media lately about "single-use plastics" that I started exploring for alternatives.  Some people's plastic bags seem to get pulled out of pockets and stray unused ones get left behind, or even part rolls get dropped and left.

I've ordered a trial pack of paper ones, to see how they go.  You're right about compactness, they don't look very good for carrying in pockets.  They seem to have cardboard sliders which might act as scrapers if needed.  One of my dogs is so eager to get to the next good smell that he often makes small deposits in several "business" stops.

If our local council sent them to landfill, I'd use biodegradable ones, but they are incinerated.

Ours goes in landfill, so they now rarely have dog only bins but have big bins that say Litter and dog waste.

Also the council tell you to put our household dog poo in black bin double bagged, for landfill.
