And i want to focus on my new friend after all the crazieness of weddings and visitors. . Ni s are pretty challenging and to big for me as kids have now left the nest and i love westies..  any help is appreaciated im in scotland and prefer not to drive to far if possible

Here is a list of breeders on champdogs. You need to look for a breeder, visit them(better still when they don't have a litter), see if you like the dogs they own, build up a rapport then if all is well put your name on their waiting list.

In addition to the breeders listed here, I'd contact the Breed Club and ask for names.  Breed Clubs have Codes of Ethics which should rule out BYBs of which there are quite a few, Westies being a popular breed.

Hi. Can a six month old spayed Westie still be hand stripped and at what age is it best to start. She is one hairy dog.

A Westie can be hand stripped at any age, although if the coat has already been clipped you may find it difficult as the coat will have grown back softer than if it was hand stripped.
Best to speak to either your breeder or a local groomer who can hand strip, to get their opinion on the suitability of the current coat.
