Hello Guys, i need some reassurance, my 4 year old large breed is due tuesday 6th March, she has done everything she shouldn't, she's been off colour for 4 weeks now, has barely eaten anything, i have been back for fourth to the vet in the early hours and regular hours as I've been so worried, she has lost a lot of her bulk and has a massive tummy, scanned her at 4 weeks and they said there is upwards of 6 puppies in there.
She has been throwing up bits of water for the last 3 days, her temp is around 37.4/37.9, I'm at a loss as so worried about her, she's calm but looks so depressed, she wants to eat but it literally turns her green. She lost her plug yesterday and slept all day, today she is unsettled, standing, changing her stance but no obvious signs of labour, she doesn't seem to want to lie down, she is panting but she has been like that for a few weeks, am just so concerned why she won't eat and am worried she won't have the strength for labour, i bought some liquid glucose , has anyone else had this issue with not eating for so long?
obviously she has had heart test and all other relevant health checks so is a fit and healthy girl normally my vet is baffled and concerned, I'm trying to stay calm any advise greatly appreciated

At this point, I'd try feeding her whatever she can keep down even if it's just a spoonful at a time. She's most likely uncomfortable with everything pressing on her insides.
Labour soon follows once the plug comes away. I would watch her, stay by her side and encourage plenty of toilet breaks. Keep hand towels handy as well as a torch when she goes out after dark.
Watch for inertia and let your vet know things are moving along.
Have you tried bland foods like chicken? Mine will do anything for roast chicken or even slow cooked pork. Bone broth is also a favourite.
Good luck.
I really wouldn't worry, she is feeling yuk and with lots of puppies pressing on the internal organs she will be uncomfortable with not much room for food, as soon as she whelps she will have a ravenous appetite after digesting the placentas and you can feed as much as she wants. My med/large breed used to be like this regularly to the extent that I used to say I wouldn't do it again, I assume she is drinking which would be more of a concern if she isn't, keep the fluids up with anything she fancies. Hopefully she will start really soon and then all will be well.
> after digesting the placentas
Just to add I restricted the number of placenta our bitches had - it's very rich and can lead to dramatic loosness.
I'd suggest 6 puppies, if the scan was accurate!, would be a small to medium size litter for your breed but even so, most bitches end up not having room for a heavy meal, let alone wanting one. Cut out all the bulk and concentrate on protein - whatever she will take, little and often. And yes, she must be drinking.
You can see your bitch however, we can't. I'd try to get these puppies out sooner rather than later, provided they are 'viable' of course.
