Hi dog lovers i have another question for you please if you wouldnt mind helping me out here. As i have always only had one dog throughout my life i am needing some advice i have this past two weeks recued another bichon frose approx age of 6 to my home. I already own a bichon a rather large one lol male neutered who is 4 the rescue is a female spayed they both walk around the home fine alot of the time if shes near my exsisting dog walks away doesnt come near me as much as he did before she arrived he tries to hump but she tells him off and they seem to play in the morning lots of growling and bowing of the front legs and barking does this sound like they will be fine together as ive never had two dogs before im just a little new to this thankyou in advance

Hi, from what you say here, it sounds to me like they are getting along just fine considering it's only been two weeks. They will be sorting out the hierarchy and it sounds like your boy is accepting the new girl as the more dominant and that's important for a balanced household. There has to be one above the other for peace to reign, it's the natural order. Enjoy your doggy family. X

Of course there are never any guarantees but from what you say, and with this gender combination, your two seem to be getting along fine, so far.   From my experience with my main breed, the bitches tend to 'rule' but it does mean the male has to listen to what he's being told, and back off!   Just avoid any 'situations' that could be a trigger - ie meals and toys.   I now only have two and they get along fine.   I've never heard as much as one grumble from either.   One, bitch, is 9 now spayed and he is 8 entire.   He occasionally tries to get silly with her but he's a Basset and she a Whippet - so it's really impossible for him to get anywhere near mounting her!!   I feed them apart, he in the kitchen and she in the living room and pick up their bowls as soon as they both have finished.   If as sometimes happens, she walks away, her bowl gets picked up immediately.   She's only into her Kong Wubba.   He's not into toys at all.   Never has been but that's Basset, once out of puppy.  They are far more interested in smells.

I keep doubting ive done the right thing as the new 6 year old keeps snapping at my boy who is a big softy she is very bossy and grabs everyones lap as shes smaller and more agile than my baby its slightly upsettig me as i feel he isnt happy

That sounds pretty normal as the girls do have to establish who is boss, especially as they are physically smaller.  The boys don't actually usually mind.

Once things settle she will be nicer to him, and they will gradually become friends..
