Hi,

I'm posting this for a friend of mine......

She has a dog who has just come of a powerful course of antibiotics for a bacterial infection. She'd like to boost the dogs immune system, homeopathically or the like to make sure this infection can't set hold again (This is the 2nd time the dog has had this). Can anyone suggest anything? She thought of Echinacea, I said Vit C. But she'd really like some suggestions to help.

Thank you in advance

Christine

PS) Any suggestions - besides Seaweed/Kelp & Evening Primrose Oil - to make coats grow?

Christine, where was the bacterial infection: skin?

What is she feeding the dog? Diet is the first place to 'look' when working on improving the immune system. If the diet is lacking, then the immune system will be too :-)

As you know, Reefa has AI problems and I have only ever supplemented him with garlic and Vit.C on top of his normal diet. He is now 7 years old and although the problem will never go away 100%, it certainly seems to be as *under control* (touch wood) as it will ever be.

Hi Leigh,

It has some proper Veterinary name but it was a bacterial infection in the dog's ear, but it can occur in feet too-basically anywhere warm & moist.

She feeds Nutro to all her dogs :) so that's the best food she can, in my opinion.

Have just found out Dodson & Horrell do a Echinacea dried mix to boost immune systems, so she's going to check out their website.

I'll pass on what you give the boy, to her and see what she says! Thankie....

Hi Lilymunster
Would Fit`n`Fertile be any good for your friends dog?
According to the literature it improves digestability,
the beneficial bacterial gut flora, trace element
absorption etc(too much info to give on here)resulting in improved health, disease immunity and vitality, improved coat condition and so on.

Hi Lilymunster
I have been looking at the literature that is sent out with Fit`n`Fertile they also do a product called `IMMUNOMATE`specially developed for the immune system, your friend would be better off speaking to them direct to see which will best suit
the dog.

Regards Carole
