I'm wanting to breed my toy breed bitch and last year she wouldn't stand for the male, she wouldn't let him touch her at all without snapping at him. Bear in mind I own the stud although they don't live together I had her with him every day after bleeding stopped, twice per day for approximately half an hour but no joy.

Now she's in season again and same procedure, taking her to my dog every day although today she's standing solid for him. Letting him mount but every time he gets close to entering her she squeals and then he won't re mount .

Does anybody know why she is squealing? I don't want to force it but I'd love to have some puppies from her as she's such a fabulous dog

As she is standing, and this is the second incidence, have you checked for a stricture?

No she's a 4 year old bitch, vets have checked for stricture and haven't found anything.
Come to the conclusion she's too dominant to be mated so will leave it be, she clearly doesn't want to be a mum
She can still be my baby though

She may be a late ovulator have you had her progesterone tested?

GFL6630, I think that's the right choice. I have known some bitches that have even been muzzled whilst being mated & the birth didn't go well...
