Hi I was hoping someone could help me I have a medium sized terrior she is 7 weeks pregnant and for the last 2 days I haven't been able to feel puppy's movement. my vet Has said this is due to the littler being big that ther all so close to get her that ther isn't much room for them to move this is why I can't feel much only with her last littler the dad was a terrior to and they wher having a party almost everyday until they wher bourn. This is her second litter by the way and I have never experienced this befor hoping someone can tell me if they have had the same problem befor Menny thanks xx

By 7 weeks I'd prefer to see movement.   But it is of course possible the bitch is stuffed leaving little room for puppy movement - much as I'd expect to see limbs poking up etc.   With mine, I'd see movement at 7 weeks, but by 48 hours, or less, before whelping none which the first time this happened, scared me to death.   But it was just them all getting into position ready to be born.

I'd not necessarily rush your bitch to the vet (stress) unless you really feel you need to.   At this point I'd wait and within 24 hours of her anticipated due date, get her x-rayed to see what's going on.

You could always get her scanned. That'll show whether the puppies are moving or not.

Thankyou for giving me some info today I can feel little movement
But not as much as I'd like she is very rounded in the belly and it's sort of dropped her last litter was so amazing for her first and it's just very confusing as it's never happens befor
The movement is like feeling them brush past if this makes sence she's absolutely fine in her self eating and drinking etc
And I don't want to rush her to vets unless I feel it's urgent
She's 1 week 6 days away from puppy's being born she's also very moody with my other dog so I have kept them separated

I have had 46 litters to date, and I have to say that no two pregnancies, no two births are EVER exactly the same.  I have had pregnancies where I felt pups moving before 7 weeks, other pregnancies where I had to be grateful if I ever felt anything at all.  Sometimes you have to wait a really long time, just leaving your hand over Mum's belly, until you finally detect what you have been waiting for.  Sometimes puppies sleep in there, at other times they can be very active.  Sometimes the movements may be more like the puppies turning over, other times like arms and legs shooting out.  So wait it out for a good long time before assuming the worst.  My breed is a bichon breed, so around 5 kg. when adult.  Twice I have experienced becoming highly uneasy about not being able to feel the babies moving, and both times it turned out that it was a small litter of three dainty little girls!  They just didn't charge around in there like the big boys do.  Nevertheless, if your inner voices are telling you that there is something WRONG, then by all means check it out!

Wise advice!   I would just add that with my main breed, long, well sprung ribcage and perhaps a small litter (rather than a big one), it was sometimes the case that she'd keep her puppies tucked well up under the ribcage and so 'a secret' until they started arriving!!

today would be day 50 of my dogs first mating,  I took her to the vet on day 46 and the vet tried to palpate, is this to late to palpate, she looks like she may be pregnant, she has a large stomach and her nipples are enlarged but the vet said she doesn't feel any puppies and thinks it is a false pregnancy.  I am not sure as this is the first time I have ever had a dog bred

Update... I took my dog to another vet for a 2nd opinion, and they did do xrays.  She has 5 puppies
