Just wondering if anyone has experenced a female still flaging the male after a tie but male not interested at all.  He will still lick her but has not tried to mound her after they tied. She started bleeding on Friday first mate was the following Thursday no tie then they tied on Friday 7 days in her heat cycle.  She pokes him flags in front of him jumps on him and he just walks away.  I'm do to take him home tomorrow should i keep him longer ??

An experienced male will KNOW.    I've often had this happen - they obviously go by scent and if he's not interested, that's it.   You just have to hope he's done the job.   At least you had 2 matings, slip tie or not.   She's a tramp!!   Make sure you know where she is when outside ALL THE TIME.  She'll be in season for the full 21 days, mated or not (which you probably know!).

It's perhaps unusual to have the dog come to the bitch btw.

I have had males stay with me for mating.  For my own bitches,  and for bitches visiting the dog due to owners owning other males.

It is usual/ preferred in my breed for the pair to stay in close proximity for several matings.

Many male owners are unable to board the bitch,  or do not have experience handling stud work,  so the bitch owner is better placed to handle matings.

Thank you it wasn't an option to send her there.

Yes I had the male both times with my recent litters, first time he was a mummy's boy who couldn't perform if his mum was watching! And second time he'd got over that, but my friend was due to go away just when Hetty was going to be ready!

It's normal for the bitch to bleed as normal whether mated or not  Often after mating the bleeding may be more noticeable due to the stimulation.

Browny tail end blood is normal as long as there is no unpleasant odour that might imply an infection
