Can any-one recommend a good place to stay in Darlington for the champ show weekend. Last time I went up there I stayed in a B&B that was supposed to be dog friendly but they were only allowed to breathe and fart, anything else and the land lady was complaining. :rolleyes:

We've had success with Travel Lodge (not travel Inn). You have to tell them when you book that you've got dog/s. The central reservation says they'll only take one, but if you check with the individual locations most will take more than one depending on breed.

Last year we stayed at the Leeming Bar Motel, and will be staying there again this year as we and our 6 dogs (!) were made very welcome. The receptionist said that they have a lot of dog people stay there. The rooms are OK, you can tell that dogs have stayed there! but clean, and there's some rough ground out the back to walk the dogs.
It's on the A1 at Bedale, N. Yorks, about 30/40 mins or so from the showground, and quite cheap. Tel: 01677 423611, it's listed in the Darlington schedule.
Better get our rooms booked soon, having given them such a good plug everyone will be booking them up!
