Hi all, this is our first litter of 5 French bulldogs.
All pups are doing fine, almost doubled in size since birth(c-section), eating and sleeping fine.
Only thing that we are worried about is their poo habits, or frequency more like it. For the last couple of days they only seem to go once, every 24 hours. Bellies are rounded but not hard to touch and they don't seem to be uncomfortable. Mum is feeding and cleaning them but still nothing, also kept a really close eye on her so we are 100% is not a case of her eating it before we see it.
Is this normal for a puppy this age and if not what can we do to change it?
I hope so. My pups are just over a week and never seen any yet.

Mine haven't seen the vet either, phoned them yesterday afternoon to ask for opinion and they bassicly told me not to worry about it, since they're eating and putting on weight, but still just doesn't seem right for a puppy this age to poo once every 24 hours.

All I can say is if they were in trouble with this, you'd hear them being uncomfortable and constipated. I had a litter where mum would attend to the peeing, but would have nothing to do with poohing - well beneath her to the point because they were uncomfortable, I was sitting them in warm water to see if I could ease the situation. Occasionally gravity would prevail and of course as time went on, they went on their own. If your lot don't appear to be uncomfortable, only going once in 24 hours could be just them.

I never saw poo in my puppies until they were older as the bitch always cleaned them up although if you have white vetbed then you might see yellow stains on it, as your puppies are gaining weight and looking content then don't worry, you will have seen quite enough puppy poo by the time they leave home.
