Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Aborted Litter alive but died shortly

I have two Papillon sisters and they both gave birth to live litters, but no hair and alive.  They died shortly.  Went to the repo vet and he was expensive and no real solution.  Has anyone else had this experience.  It was awful, I just want some clue why this happened.  They were well fed, kept clean and seemed very healthy, but gave birth to live puppies too early.  One of the bitches had a normally pregnancy and had one normal bitch who I still have.  Any input would be appreciated.

canine herpes virus or brucellosis could be at play as i know that can cause abortions and malformations, you can test for them but it has to be done at a specific time which i cant remember but a quick google should tell you, also had a freind who had a vaccinated bitch whelp pups whose skin was coming off and vet said it could have been a challenge of parvo which didnt affect the mum but did the pups.

Where any stillborn? One of my girls had a litter 9 days early, we lost them all but the vet suspected that one had dies previously and caused an infection which brought on premature labour.
