Willow had a set to with another dog yesterday. The other dog took her ball and the owner insisted on keep trying to give it back to Willow. I told her not to bother but the woman threw the ball and Willow caught it and the other dog launched herself on Willow. Willow is the gentlest dog you can imagine but she flipped the other dog on its back and there was a horrid snarling and biting episode. I was quite cross with the woman but didn't say anything. She must know that her dog can react like that. Anyway Willow has a couple of puncture wounds. What can I do to ensure they don't become infected? Thanks Jane

Clean them with salted water, I'd also get them checked by your vet,as antibiotics may be needed.

Thanks. I have cleaned with salted water. Look fairly superficial.

either apply manuka honey or you can order activon medical grade honey  from amazon. it comes in small handy tubes and apply. its very good for such things . if the dog licks just keep applying, hopefully it will stop it getting infected as puncture wounds are rather prone to doing. I tend to kep an eye on these things rather than immediately to the vet , if they start looking angry then I would go to the vet but that just how I do things
