My bitch is on day 11 today, she had a second blood test (not idexx but same test I believe) yesterday and it came back as 10.8nmol with guidance to retest Tuesday.
I think retesting Monday would be better?

Does this sound right? I know bitches vary season to season but just wanted to check as last litter she was mated days 11 & 13.

when was the blood taken?  Bitches can ovulate at different times with each season

Blood was taken yesterday, I get the results the same day.

I would go for a mating tomorrow and also re-test to place the 2nd mating....

7 -12 Nmol or 2.2 - 3.7ng minimum one day to ovulation. estimated breeding window 3 -5 days

Ah really? It's a long way and the stud is a maiden so want perfect timing and 2 matings really...

I had a long way to go (5hr ferry and 2hr drive) and I left the same day as a result of 4.9nmol and got a mating the next day which she was very willing about with a 20min tie.  We then waited 2 days and mated again 72 hrs later, with another good mating and 20min tie - Days 12 and 15 - result = 7 puppies.

I guess it depends how fast you can get there once you get your result, but if you can place the 2nd mating whenever, then if it were me, I'd go now to get one mating and then either use tests or instinct to place the 2nd mating and cover as wide a range of dates as possible.

Make sure you do get it right always risky with a Maiden stud

Thanks, I will be ready to go tomorrow afternoon if needed then.

Yes the fact that it is his first time makes me nervous, but he's such a lovely dog who I have loved since he was a pup and he's owned by very experienced breeders!
