Dog killed due to negligence in kennel boarding.

My friends young dog was killed in a boarding kennel due to the negligence of the kennel owners not securing gates correctly.
They were told there dog would only be mixed with dogs / puppy's her age . This wasn't the case . Friend wants to sure kennel but needs advice on who she can contact .... Any ideas . This death has caused so much hurt in her family /:

So sorry for their loss. The kennel should be licensed probably with the local council I would start there.I am not sure if trading standards may also have an interest

I would contact the local paper to where the kennels are and ask if they wanted it as a news story.  They have lawyers so they would know what you should do as they cannot print without being sued.

Sorry to hear about your friends dogs.

Did you mean sue the kennel? A solicitor would be their port of call if that's the case.

What does your friend want from the boarding kennel owners, they should have insurance to cover any mishap in their kennels so they will I hope have talked to your friend and asked what she would accept as compensation, if not then I would suggest writing to the kennel owners asking for an amount and if nothing is forthcoming then send a solicitors letter. I would be interested to know what the kennel owners say about the incident and how it happened, all the details are very important and getting that in writing is imperative.
