My toy poodle has always got a 'snotty' right eye if given cheap chews, so we don't give them anymore.
She is now 4 and for the past couple of weeks she has had a runny right eye - watery not snotty.
I'm wondering if it might be hay fever causing it rather than a blocked duct, so I thought about trying some Piriton before rushing off to the vet.
So how much Piriton for a 4KG dog and should it be branded liquid ?
TIA

piriton (chlorphenamine) and certrizine are fine for dogs. Piriton is the only one licensed although vets will give either. Make sure its the drowsy one that only has the original drug in it and you don't need the brand name.  1 tablet per 10kg of dog is what I was told by the vet and must not be given to dogs on epilepsy meds
Might be worth ringing your vet to check

Don't use any other antihistamines as some contain other things which could be fatal
