I've just bought a dog from the republic of Ireland and he hasn't got any microchip transfer forms with him (he is chipped) I'm unsure how I'm supposed to change these details to my name and address as his chip is a PlanetID chip not petlog? And I don't have any details for contacting PlanetID either!
What should I do?

Who did your dog come from ? They have to use Irish database registered chips in Ireland & depending on which chip manufacturer produced the chip some can be registered online with Petlog & some are treated as"foreign" chips & are registered via a hard copy form you can download from the Petlog site

I can't help but wonder if anybody can, at the same time, help me re a recent microchipping I had done on my one hound who hadn't been done.   I have received a letter from Petlog 'welcoming me to Petlog Basic' and telling me I can 'now look up and check the information the implanter has recorded on the P. database'.   And asking me, to complete this, please go to .......   I can find the details for my other hound but CANNOT seem to add a second dog.    I have contacted Petlog who just tell me they are 'very busy'.   So to date, I can do nothing.

What do I do?

If your dog is registered with the Irish Kennel club i think now you just need to send in the registration certificate to transfer ownership.
