Good for you - and you are lucky because the more people apply for an affix, the less likely it is to get a first choice!
Coming back from overseas where we had a registered affix, which I knew was taken by somebody in another breed in the UK (but we'd not intended to come back!), I approached the people here to see if they were still active and if not, whether they'd let the KC know so we might be able to keep our overseas affix. There is no reciprocal agreement between the various Kennel Clubs. They said no, but then they might, for a four-figure sum. Hum. We had to think up a reasonably similar word (the original was the Roman name of the town we'd lived in before going abroad). Those we brought back with us kept our overseas registered affix which couldn't be changed but everything we bred back in the UK was registered under the new affix. Sadly I always thought of us as our original affix. The only thing we now have that contains our overseas affix, is our email address!!
So well done.
