Advice please? When giving the 1st dose of the vaccine to a bitch who has been mated over a nine day period, is the timing taken from the 1st or last day of mating please? The info from the company says to give "...either when the bitch is on heat or 7-10 days after the date of mating'. (I understand that the 2nd dose of the vaccine is likely to be more important but want to give the 1st one at the most beneficial time too if possible.)
Many thanks, M

I'd got for 7 - 10 days from first mating seeing as it can be given before mating takes place.

My vet made a boo boo and gave my girl the wrong vaccine, both myself and the vets spoke to the manufacturer and they advised ot can be given up to 4 weeks post mating. I opted not to as I felt what he gave in error I didn't want to overload even though the same manufacturer said it wouldn't be a problem. I'm not one for over vaccinating but would and would do the chv again

I think there is only one vaccine available on the market for herpes (Eurican Herpes 205)?! What vaccine did your vet give?! I'd change vets!

He gave lepto which is the same.company. A mistake he's apologised for and I didn't pay for some vets fees because of it.

Wasn't a happy bunny but company who make it said it wouldn't affect fertility or any pregnancy. She didn't take that time around
