Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me, I have a 3 yr old toy breed who started heat on 18th Jan and mated on the 27th, so is over 3 weeks pregnant but is still spot bleeding, her season hasn't really stopped? I would like to add she has done this last time (bled over 3 weeks) but I thought she would stop bleeding after 3 weeks due to her pregnancy. She is very healthy & playful , eating more than usual, and no fever whatsoever?
Anyone had a pregnancy with bleeding?

Yes I have, and all was well, but I have the same as you with this bitch (a granddaughter of the other) this time she was mated two days later than yours on 29th through to 4th Feb, and started season on the 17th, so also worrying a bit and keeping fingers we get pups.

Unlike all the others, I had one bitch who after being mated, produced a blood-coloured discharge through the final weeks of her season.   I was worried but since she was otherwise fine, I didn't get her checked.   She had an otherwise uneventful pregnancy, and 9 really super puppies - it was probably one of the best litters we ever had.  We kept 3, 2 bitches and one of the 5 males.   Something I hardly ever did.

Personally rather than rush her to the vet (infection), I'd keep an eye on her and if she's otherwise okay, not drinking more or otherwise unwell (pregnancy apart) let nature take it's course.   If the discharge becomes copious, or foul smelling (or the increased drinking) then of course, get your vet involved.

Hoping that is the case here, as she missed last season, but the dog had already missed to another bitch.

Thanks so much I'm just more concerned my beautiful dog is ok lol, but yeah no smell or illness whatsoever, eating like a horse, however sleeping quite a bit but I'm amusing that's normal and this is the 4th week so looking a bit bigger around her belly area. Got a scan on Wednesday so fingers crossed and will let u know the outcome
But thanks very much x

Hi i have a toy breed who is on day 49 by 3 weeks she had put on quite a bit of weight around the ribs and lower belly. Before she was mated she was very fit a lean not one ounce of fat on her, i have never bred a toy before so didnt no if this was normall i just wanted to ask what ur toy breed was like at 3 weeks in regards to weight gain? I had her scanned at day 28 she was scanned for no longer than 30 seconds and four pups were clearly seen no more but we are now on day 49 and it looks like she is going to pop so im wondering if there could be more pups. In regards to the bleeding mine bled for 2 days after her tie but then it stopped. Dont think its bad either way tbh.

I have a toy bitch who is still bleeding & has had today a bit of clear/brown discharge. She started her season 18th Jan so should have stopped bleeding as it now 6 weeks since she started season. I took her to the vets who scanned her and said no puppies but my stud owner said I was far too early! My dog is absolutely fine no fever , playful, tired , eating like a horse no smell from discharge. Not sure if she is aborting her pups or not? Feeling helpless x

She would be 33 days pregnant if she's pregnant!

I had mine scanned at 28 days but not from a vet apperantly they are not very good at scans. I had mine done by a sheep scanner and like i say it was very clear at day 28 from first mating she was pregnant. I would acan again in 7 days. My pug hasnt had any brown discharge theough pregnancy so not sure on that shes just had white string like discharge every now and again
