hi
just wondering if kc has rules etc and feding show dogs herbs supplemnts etc just reading that feli had banned devils claw been given to compition horses and ponies
my 2 show pointers do get codliver oil tablets just about to order osmonds muscel master and canin butex but butex contined devils claw.muscel master is for top line as both need bit of topline
i have used osmonds products for years for both horses and dogs
but just want to check that i can use butex on show dogs i have used it in past on my old feild pointer

No as it alters the appearance, but scars are not a fault are they ?

yes in showing horse and ponies scar have to be coverd
just wondering if scars had to coverd up in dogs

nothing must be put on or remain in coat, that alters colour or texture, other than water.

I've seen dogs with scars being shown. espicialy in the working ones.

As said NOTHING that alters the coat.   I know of many dogs who have scars that are shown - especially working/hunting/gundogs.   I was used to using chalk to improve/enhance the white on legs, out in Canada.   But quickly realised this was a no-no here in the UK!!   Oops.   People apparently use anti-skid spray on paws (to use on the slippery floors in halls) but I'm not sure even that is 'legal'?

woops i use chalk also got paw wax it was recomeded to me by pro handler only used it at show that did not have matts down
also seen a lady use coke ie drink on her gundog paws
also use coat shine but its not got silicin in it

my problem is i spent 28yrs turning heavy horses out too very high standerd for county and local shows
am trying so hard to turn dogs out to high standerd only been shown dogs 6yrs i work so hard with pointers it may not look like it with hector he idiot and shows
i watch judging and how people turn their dogs out i do have good friend that helps me
