Hi all
I am new here and wanted some help please

I have just got a 5 generation pedigree from kennel club and on the 5th gen there are a lot of unknown registered sire and dam

I know this May be due to imported dogs etc but I really want to know how and where to search and find the missing dogs?.

Can anyone help me please

Regards

Chris

The only way would be to contact the breed clubs and find out who owns the dogs where parents are missing.

I helped compile and correct aw friends IKC registered dogs pedigree by contacting the IKC with the names of the dogs whose parents were missing.

They were very helpful and I am sure the AKC would do the same.

With Scandinavian dogs you can freely access the Finnish database (Kioranet) and I think the Swedish one, though for NKK (Norwegian) you need to be a member.

As your dog is kc registered you can try Google searching the last known names in the pedigree. As you have said imported dogs the KC won't have that much info on the gens behind them.
When I was typing up the ten gen pedigree for a litter the male who is an import only has 3 gens on the kc but I was able to find all the missing info online threw the Finnish/Swedish kennel clubs, breeders sites and a breed data base

You may be lucky...some breeds have their own archives/databases (my own does) which list many dogs from all over the world. Try searching for Pomeranian archive & see what turns up...then if you find one, put your dogs name in fingers crossed...good luck
