I've always used a plain biscuit bone for treats and my usual supplier having difficulties  finding non gravy biscuits.I've looked at other brands and some are weird shapes you can't break in half. I keep him to a certain amount so he doesn't get over weight  so far bang on for his weight.
Any ideas/tips for good brands/treats and we can buy in bulk please.

Never feed mine biscuit treats, in fact my lot don't have treats at all as it causes too much in fighting. I bake my own liver cake and buy dehydrated real meat to use as bait when doing individual training. What are you treating your boy for, or do you mean you use them when training?

I  am like buffs mum and use similar things  and don't treat except for training
if u use biscuit what's wrong with gravy bones ? Small bag of kibble of some type ?

What about the pedigree milky bones? I always thought they were a plain version of the gravy bones. Some places do the boxes for 99p too

Pets at home sell plain biscuits of different sizes.
I like boiled liver or liver cake for mine. Or they get carrots, sausages, cheese etc.. I prefer no to buy biscuits. Weebox in Asia do nice liver treats

I use them for training and if we are out on walks. I found gravy ones stuck together in my pocket if a wet day too.. He also had looser stools with the chicken gravybone biscuits he had one monthlMost of my pockets have treats/poo bags in the pockets. I've tried pets at home big bag of plain biscuits however last bag I had they seemed to turn a black/grey colour...
Plus I wondered if a healthier alternative to the biscuits.  I would heave re liver cake preparing justcan't deal with offal.
I'll look at Asda too thanks

I use Applaws small/med dog food as treats, 70% meats and 25 veg so no grain or additives, They are small so I can give 3,4,5,etc straight off and he still has less than 1 gravybone, also used lovejoys or vitalin grain free for same purpose, as they are all kibbles they don't crumble.
I buy a box of (I think its called) Ranger Davis beef jerky to give when I go out and he is left or if he is shut in his crate (non-dog visitors) etc, I break that into smaller pieces and store in plastic lidded tubs as its quite pongy!
They sell packets of it in some pet shops but a box works out about 1/3 the price per 100g

Lilys kitchen perfectly puppy is tiny petit pois size and don't break up. I got a small bag of Acana puppy on sale which is also about same size and doesn't break up nice and smelly too.

I'm a liver boiler too :D Makes the house smell of farts for a while, but last for ever and is super cheap! Other than that Natures Menu treat meat pieces.

Forgot to mention..................if you go to Crufts its amazing how much you can acquire just asking 'do you do any grain free food'? Either sample bags or 'show offer' 2kg bags, my collection lasted well into the summer :grin:

I do a mix of home-made dried liver or shop bought,.P@h or The Range do dried duck/venison/salmon etc sticks - I just cut them into tiny pieces for training.  As an extra 'keep them occupied treat' - stuffed frozen kongs or hooves are great, also dried tripe sticks - but they don't last long and are VERY smelly.

Dry catfood makes good tiny (smellier than dry dog food) treats.

Mine have cheese, liver cake, dehydrated liver, hot dog sausages, cocktail sausages, tuna cake, ham. We like variety!

That's a good idea tatty Edd! Two years ago I got a load of plattinum samples from crufts - they made great treats! This year I bought a 2kg bag on a show offer and that lasted for ever!
