Noticed some slight swelling/redness around my girl's right eye yesterday evening. Took her to the vets this morning and turns out that she has a bit of conjunctivitis.

Puppies are 5 weeks old next Tuesday but petrified they might've caught the infection off her. Have checked their eyes numerous times today and will continue to do so.

Vet said to look out for swelling, redness, leaky eyes etc.

Has anybody else had anything like this? Or know how likely it is for the infection to pass? She hasn't been sleeping with the pups as they now have teeth and she has become a little more reluctant but still goes in and feeds every couple of hours.

Any advice/past experiences would be great. Think I'm just stressing out but don't want to stress her out too!

She may be a bit run down at the moment..... You could wipe puppies eyes with colloidal silver which is very safe and a natural antibiotic but as she is not with them much I would personally wait and see if any develop it...

It could just be that a pup has caught her in the eye with a claw..... It's easy to panic when you feel such a responsibility with a litter and very few litters sail through to 8 weeks without something cropping up to worry about..... This does sound like hopefully a very minor thing :)
