Well we have Spring/Summer and Winter watch programmes. When it first started I did enjoy it and in particular  Bill Oddie. I loved his enthusiasm and his one liners. I know the crew had an issue with Bill which later came to light re mental health issues. Sometimes you could sense the uncomfortable feeling between Chris/Bill and Micheala.  I find Chris smug and not as enjoyable and not keen on Micheala. It has been mentioned in the press about both Autumn watch and Country file only show you the shots/stories the BBC want you too watch or know about.Almost a feed the reports in a sweet  saccharine  way.
Do programmes like this encourage or put off the public?  Do we really get to see the true picture of nature? Is it one sided? More controversial  did Bill deserve the press he got from the rest 9f the crew?

I've always enjoyed the programs, but do agree that they have a habit of skimming over the top of subjects and it's all rather cute and cuddly and seems aimed at children rather then adults. When Chris first joined he was allowed to be hugely knowledgeable about his subjects and as a keen bird watcher I appreciated that, now though it all seems rather formulaic and appealing to the kiddies.
Our static van is very close to Minsmere where they have been filming Springwatch for the last two years, they will be there next year for the last time. I have spent the last two springs prowling around Minsmere and the heaths in the hope of coming across Chris so I can buttonhole him about various birds, and perhaps just mention that adults do watch the programs.
