Hi we are travelling overseas shortly and I have a Vari Kennel but what shall I line it with.  My dog will be in there for about 7 hours so I need something comfortable but also absorbent and I am concerned that vet bed may be too warm.

Shredded paper on top of one of those absorbent puppy pads.

My bitch never dirtied her crate on an 8 hour flight, and on way home we were delayed and she was still clean and dry after 16 hours in it.
