Defo Origin, best quality food you can get! Honestly has all the right components, and less "fluffy" bits than JWB.

Orijen ! no contest between the 2 , just look at the real meat content in the 2 of them ! Not my choice of food JWB but is a lot better than a lot of complete foods should you choose that over the orijen
,but what you pay for jwb you can get better x

I raw feed but of the kibbles oriented woudl be a better choice imo

I'm another raw feeder but if I had to make a decision the choice would be very easy, "ORIJEN" most definately the best !
Orijen didn't suit my dog. It was too rich for him and he never had a firm poo whilst he was on it.

A lot less of Orijen is needed at feed times compared with the grain based kibbles, it's possible your chap was being fed too much !

georgepig, I had exactly the same experience with mine, even when I decreased what I was feeding to almost nothing. I came the to conclusion that they need either bone or carbs (or filler of some sort) to firm out the poo. I switched to slightly higher carb (no grain) diet - Bob and Lush - and everything is perfect. Bob and Lush is now 60% meat...

Orijen wasn't good for mine either when fed at rate that didn't trigger loose stools the dogs were ravenous and thin.
Foods with carbs suit mine so out of the two JWB would be my choice

I realise this is a one or the other question, but fact is I think the answers so far just go to show that not all food suits all dogs. And it's very much a case of finding something that does, for the individual dog, and sticking to it. I use Arden Grange Sensitive because after coming to us with Giardia, this sorted out the left-over weakness my hound had. I tried switching to Pooch & Co a while back, Lamb and Rice, but although both liked it (I have my other hound on the same even if she doesn't need it - it's just more convenient to feed themt he same) I felt after a while, my Basset was getting irritated skin. So it was back to AG. I was upset when they reduced the weight of their product from 15 kg to 12 kg but kept the same price. But if it keeps him especially away from the vet's office, it's worth paying for.
I'm assuming JWB is James Wellbeloved? in which case I tried using this once, but found it too 'floury' for my hounds so didn't continue.
I think you might be well advised to talk to your dog's breeder as they usually know what works best for their breed and bloodlines (even individual dogs).
My schnauzers absolutely love Orijen!! We're talking about dogs who are known to be fussy eaters, who are happy to go without food for days! If they did like the food, then it gave them the runs. After trying everything under the sun, Orijen was the only food that they not only liked but also stopped them having the runs.

That's the absolute answer, always was always is.
I think some of these topics about 'this food, that food, which food' always attract a fair proportion of folks expressing a form of psychological obsession which in itself blocks them from any flexible, sensible, objective assessment outside the individuals object of such an obsession.
.
It seems anything high protein, other than actual meat, makes him a bit loose. He was the same on Simpsons 80/20 and another one I forget the name of. It seems he too needs a few carbs to help him along the way. He can eat grain free food fine but all the high protein completes seem a no go.

Is there any particular reason you were giving him high protien?
.
No reason just those foods were high protein and it was an observation of mine he was loose. It wasn't Simpsons it was applaws that didn't suit. They also worked out not as expensive as they seem as I had to feed less but alas they aren't the foods for him.
He is fine on JWB, wainwrights, Arden grange, etc and has raw meat as extras.
