I had my pup vaccinated when 13wks with first jab then two weeks later I have 3rd jab on Thurs (pup is 17wks) I have no vaccine card so can't see what brand. Can someone help getting confused on another forum with lepto 2/lepto 4, why the extra jab it was only 2 last time TIA X

Nobivac do the 3 if you choose and the last one is the L4, I refuse to give that to mine.. It's quite controversial that particular vaccine part

I areas where Parvo is by active many vets are recommending a third vaccine, which is just the parvo component,  ( previous two distemper, hepatitis and parvo ) so your third vaccine at 16 weeks plus may be this

Lepto is two shots usually given alongside the DHP combo vaccine. I  always ask for this to be done later, so do DHP at 14 -16 weeks and then start lepto at 18 weeks plus so as not to stress immune system with too many diseases all at once

Why do you not have the card to check on what the puppy has received ?

When the new strain of the Lepto jab first became available my vet and his partner discussed whether it was needed.  They voted against BECAUSE IT WAS NOT IN THE UK at that time.

Now that it has been found here (damn that bloody Channel Tunnel) there is an outbreak in Bristol.  Which made them change their minds.  I see them most months as I have so many dogs.  There is always one due for a booster.  As I have taken them in for the jab (which covers lepto 1 and lepto 2) I have been given the option of having them go back for a boost of 4)  I have discussed with a lot of top breeders and the winning vote goes to having the cover.  And anyone living near an outbreak is giving their dog the chance to die if hit by the new strain.

My vet is not charging for the Lepto 4 booster.  I have some very tiny dogs as well as the Collies.  Not one single dog has had any reaction at all to the Lepto 4 and I would encourage anyone who loves their dog to protect it.

Thanks Klb,
The reason I have no card was because they didn't have any cards, and on the second visit they said will sort out card when I visit this time round.
Thank you at least I won't have kids with me on this visit so I may be able to hear and take it in lol
