I was told to give my pup ginger to stop her being sick and pooing in the car.   Does anyone know which ginger?  Ground, fresh, capsules?  How much should be given?  Has anyone had any success using ginger?

I think some give ginger nuts...as in the biscuits. I have never tried this theory myself though...

I was advised to give my daughter ginger biscuits to stop her being travel sick as a child. unfortunately it didn't work but neither did anything else. She grew out of it eventually

I used to give my Beardie a one a day ginger capsule made by Hoefel's. She was a year old though not sure how much I would give a pup. If you Google there are lots of articles

When I lived in Cornwall I used to drive to Reading frequently to see my family and kids, the only problem was that one of my dogs would start being sick before I was even out of my road. In desperation I tried the ginger biscuit advice I had been given by a friend at dog training. I started off with half a ginger nut biscuit about every half an hour, and to my surprise it worked. My dog got through a whole packet by the time I got there, but no sickness, just a fat dog. I gradually decreased the amount he was given on the return journey. I think as long as the dog does not have this quantity of biscuits too frequently then it really worked for me with no side effects

Never worked for me personally and all my dogs have been ok in the car.  But, have you tried a cover over her crate so she can't see out?  Apparently for many, human and dog, car sickness is partly from seeing the outside rush past the windows.

I had a retriever who was car sick going to our caravan years ago. Someone on our caravan sight who used to show her retrievers told me to give 1 sea legs or quell. She was an adult dog, I tried it and it worked.

My dog trainer who has had as many as 16 dogs at a time, mostly rescues, over 40+ years has always used Stugeron.

Teeny tiny journeys, if possible shorter than the time it takes her to throw up and build it up.  A lot of pups are carsick and most do grow out of it though.  My rott mix was dreadful as a pup but as a 3-yr old, did many 200 mile journeys to college and back and then moving house with no problems at all and, the spaniel I brought up with me was carsick but by starting short and building, I managed to get him doing that 200 mile trip with no problems in a fortnight.  He was somewhere between 6-10 months when I got him.

An Irish setter I had used to be car sick however short the journey was, but eventually grew out of it by the age of two. By then he loved going out in the car and you needed to watch him or else he would climb into anyone's car if they left the door open.
