How old should a puppy be before doing a dna test because i understand if too young and still feeding from mum they will have mums dna in their mouths.Even if they are still occasionally feeding from mum how long should i wait from a feed to do the test? Thanks

There is advice on the Optigen site, from memory pups should be weaned and separated from Mum and siblings for around two hours.

Do they have to be chipped for the results to be recorded anywhere too?

Our KC does not require independent verification of dogs identity for DNA testing.

We do our own for Genescoper MyDogDNA panel testing
