Hello all ! Please don't be mean to me I am a sensible responsible adult woman with two beautiful adults and just wanted to have a litter of puppies for the experience
I have 4 beautiful puppies but lots and lots of questions and so I thought I'd join this group :0)
They are 3 weeks old today and I'm weaning them as my bitch just will not sit still long enough for them
To feed from her (she's not been a great mum in the feeding department) any tips and suggestions on the best way to wean them

Hello and welcome :). I haven't had a litter myself so cannot 9 fer advice however I'm positive you will find some helpful advice and tips from members here.
I'm sure it's been an incredible three weeks already for you. Wishing you and your puppies and mom lots 9 luck

Have you trimmed the puppies' nails? They grow very quickly and can easily scratch their mum, making it very uncomfortable for her to feed them. To wean my pups I use Arden Grange Large Breed Puppy/junior complete kibble. I start off by soaking it with slightly cooled boiled water, mixing it to a sort of porridge. Over the following weeks I gradually reduce the amount of time I soak it, until the pups are eventually on completely dry by the time they leave for their new homes. The make of food is down to personal choice but if you're using the RC moose I wouldn't add anything else that could upset the balance.

As soon as you start weaning puppies..and by weaning I mean getting them OFF of milk...you must provide water.kibble or proprietary foods can have flavour additives which make them thirsty.
A heavy shallow bowl of fresh water must be available 24/7.
I wean onto fine minced beef, slowly introducing any other food they will go onto eat later.
No teeth for grinding until a bit later so hard food must be ground or soaked to add to the meat.

Your breed is notorious for their lack of care towards their pups.  The attitude seems to be "you wanted them, so you take care of them" And they often refuse to clean the pups.
