I have plans to take my bitch to France for a mating she is 2 1/2 and has had 2 seasons thus far. I expect her in around August (last season Feb and she was 6/7 months between 1st and 2nd).

I have booked time off in August and obviously hoping for the best (it is in the hands of the gods so to speak) but I've noticed she is starting to swell ever so slightly, nothing major but there is a definite difference. I am a little concerned that she is going to come in a lot earlier than I have anticipated. She is a giant breed though so I can't imagine she would come in this soon...surely??

Is there any blood tests to tell me more regarding how far along in the cycle she is to enable me to plan better?
