Hello,
I'm after as much information about the White German Shepherd in the UK, I have some details on the origin of the colour in the breed, and its selection out of showing the world over. I know it is separate breed in the US and in Europe as a Swiss White Shepherd. I'm after as much info as possible on the history of dogs of this colour being used in working roles.
Any links to websites, book recomendaions, photos, stud books, anything about the white german shepherd will all help.
Its all to go towards a personal project I'm doing in conjuntion with the KCAI scheme, researching the history and comparing the working ability.
I own a white working shepherd in the UK doing private security, people seem to think their substandard in some respects because of colour, while they my not be selected in the show ring, they are often homed to pet homes, where the natural working ability is wasted.
I have some info, but I find the experiences of others and newer sources can help expand on what I've already got.
Thanks
Yep, I'm already a member of that society. Very useful but even to a degree their knowledge is based solely on what they see nower days rather than anything historical. Yes I know their seen as a disqualify or undesirable colour in obedience the world over, and up to recently they were generally culled as wrong pups, and now their popularity is growing due to people wanting more unusual coloured anything. I'm after any solid info of their history and working ability.
